Dues (AAUP)

Since its founding in 2007, the AAUP@KSU chapter has approached dues-paying membership from a couple of different perspectives. We respectfully request that faculty members wanting to join the chapter become members of national AAUP (link) and the local chapter. This is standard AAUP practice across the country. National AAUP dues range from $60-$272/year depending on one’s salary and can be set up as a monthly ACH bank transaction like any other bill. Local AAUP@KSU dues are $10/year.

Recognizing that labor organizing and advocacy is new to some faculty, the chapter has allowed KSU faculty members to support the chapter by paying local dues without insisting on national membership. Associate members will be added to the AAUP@KSU list-serv. This establishes a faculty member as a local associate member but not as a full status, voting member of the chapter.

Our meetings are open to anyone in the KSU community as well, creating, effectively, a third tier of participation wherein interested parties may attend, engage in conversation, follow news of the organization. Join us for either of our two social events this semester. Should you decide to join national AAUP membership and/or support our local chapter, we’ll be glad to include you on upcoming business meetings and chapter news.

[We still need to establish those links.]
