Posing in my office, 2024
Hi, I’m Pete Rorabaugh; welcome to my home base on the web!
As it reads on the left, I’m a father, Atlantan, cyclist, educator, scholar, and union member. Many of those identities collapse into and inflect each other (Atlanta cyclist, scholar of teaching and learning, father of other Atlantans). My faculty page at Kennesaw State University is here, though it’s always out of date because we don’t get rights to edit those ourselves.
But I’m also: a lover of ultimate frisbee, a writer of many WordPress “About” pages (this is maybe my sixth?), a fan of independent film and music, an appreciator of civic (and civil) discourse, a novel reader, and a believer in the value of diversity (of humans, of thought, etc.).
But I’m also: a fan of social and political organizing, a critic of big tech, a contributor to public radio, an enjoyer of art supplies, a denier of the strength of a two party political system, and a Twitter exile (find me on Mastodon!).
And I’m also getting older, more curious, picky about where my attention goes, interested in my next tattoo, and ever more appreciative that I was able to grow up in the early years of Sesame Street.
I invite you to engage with me, blog with me, invite me into a project, to teach me something new, and/or to challenge my thinking.
